How will my Unichip come programmed?
We ship with “standard” maps programmed into the Unichip unless you ask for something specific. There are two “standards, one for Flux kits and one for basic kits.
Flux Kits
If you purchase a Flux version kit, your Unichip will have five maps loaded into it:
- Map 1 – Low Octane (pump 87)
- Map 2 – Midgrade Fuel (pump 89)
- Map 3 – Premium Fuel (pump 92)
- Map 4 – Valet (engine won’t make full power)
- Map 5 – Immobilizer (engine won’t start)
All maps are set up for the bolt-on parts specified in the pull down menu when you placed the order.
Standard Kits.
If you purchase a standard version kit, your Unichip will have two maps loaded into it:
- Map 1 – Low Octane (pump 87)
- Map 2 – Premium (pump 92)
Again, each map is set up for the bolt-on parts you specified in the pull down menu when you placed the order.
Octane notes:
- Octane “rating” vary between brands and regions. Using octane within 1 point either way of the map specification will be fine.
- The US and Canada use a different octane rating from most of the rest of the world. If you live outside of the US and Canada, add 6 points to the map specification to see what fuel the map is designed for.
What if that’s not how I want my Unichip programmed?
If you want some other mapping on your kit, simply tell us what you’re looking for in the Customer Comment section during the Checkout process. If we understand your request, we’ll happily make the change; if we don’t, one of our production associates will contact you for clarification.
Reprogramming
The Unichip in the PnP kit can be reprogrammed at any time after we program it. To do so at home, see the reprogramming FAQ in the pull down.
